When does the manpain start? I have finished the first disc but there is no manpain! Not a bit!

Oh, there's manpain. It just tries to trick you into thinking the drama is all happy and cutesy for the first 1/3rd. Then once you hit the carriage of manpain it's just angst from there on out.

I will have to sit through untold discs of happy people being all cheery for the inevitable reward. *sigh*

I understand your desire for manpain. I do feel that TLF is slow in the beginning because of all the cute... most of the time I joke about manpain making things better but here it really does make the drama better. Hang in there. You will be rewarded with such things as: screaming manpain, otp separation, selective amnesia, evil plots, slavery, suicidal poetry, housefires, death by housefire, hu ge becoming an orphaned slave, more otp separation, death by flying carpet, OT3s, serial killers, mongolians, and did I mention slavery?

There is orphan slavery? Really? Really? You're not just pretending to lure me in?

There is. I would not lie about such things. When have I ever lied to you?

You could have been waiting for this pivotal moment for the lies.

It is just so hard to imagine after all of that football playing there will be real manpain waiting for me.

They are a cunning lot. They get you by surprise. But not me. I'm honest like Hu Ge.

I BELIEVE. I will wait patiently for my screaming manpain.

Fear not.

The first 9 or 10 episodes are there to lure you into a false sense of security, making you think you're watching a cute, fluffy romance. Then around eps 10-13 are nothing BUT manpain, after which there's the occassional moment of cute fluffiness and then an hour or so of angst and manpain.

I have another disc of happiness to go. It makes me sad. I wonder if I ffed whether that would be wrong?

It would be very wrong. Once the manpain hits, you'll need your memories of the happy.

But I could go back and watch the happy moments from time to time amidst the manpain.

nonono...you want to properly appreciate the happy moments so that when the angst hits, the happy won't be clouded by the angst. Otherwise, you'll be like the guy in this icon and go nuts w/ manpain and try to bash your brain out once you've lot the ability appreciate the happy without the pain.

But this is delaying my manpain! I have another disc to go through before I get Hu Ge agony!!!!

I say, fast forward to the screaming. I would (and do).

There may be some judicious ffing. But I am informed that I need the happy memories to keep me going through the manpain. It is a terrible dilemma.
