I may or may not have ordered season 2 and 3 of Highlander. How can you not love a show with

1. Mountain men who MOVE LIKE COUGARS

2. Evil mimes

3. Joan Jett drowning helpless women in ornamental ponds and then killing off a baby for good measure

4. Highway men and many (so many!) bad wigs and even more terrifying accents.

But, God, I loathe Boy Wonder. I understand he's here for the duration too. I also spend a long time wondering whether immortals are born smug and (mainly) bonkers and homicidal or if they get that way after years of living on the whole really pointless lives. They're not really very bright either: no one ever seems to wonder why there 'Can be only one' or who made the rules in the first place. Instead, they just whip out the swords and start chopping. As a strategy developed over milennia it seems somewhat lacking.

ETA: Man, Amanda is irritating. Didn't she get her own show? That strikes me as a bad decision.

IIRC, I once saw an episode implying Boy Wonder went away forever, due to a reckless/brainwashed swing of Duncan's or something.

I bet he lasts for seasons though. If I were Duncan and Tessa I'd have shoved him off the side of the barge. It's not like anyone would care.

Hang in there. Boy Wonder gets what's his due and the later episodes have less and less of him. I always wondered why in the world the producers kept him on - no acting skills, no charisma and no brains.

Methos, however, is a different matter. There isn't enough of him but what there is, is choice.

I'm a bit worried about Methos. I'd heard great things about Amanda too and she irritates the living daylights out of me.

I live in hope.

Methos is snarky and calls Duncan on his crap loads of times. Therefore we love Methos.

I loathed Amanda enough to prefer Cassandra who just bugged me.

I haven't seen Cassandra yet. Another treat in store.

Amanda had a spin-off series called Highlander: The Raven in which she co-started with Hunky Cop (without looking it up, I think the actor's real name is Paul something-or-another). Really beautiful man. And the show only lasted a season and had one of the lamest and predictable (according to fans) finales perhaps because of it.

Admittedly, I've only seen one episode with Amanda, but based on that I would give good money not to have to see her ever again. But I bet she and her roguish ways pop up again and again.

I'd forgotten about "The Raven." A pretty lame show that proved that Liz Gracen, while pretty and looking good in skimpy outfits, didn't have enough charisma to pull in an audience. I think that it's a toss up for me which one I disliked more, Amanda, Anne (a future girlfiend of Duncan who is both self-righteous and clueless) or Cassandra, the only woman in the Bronze Age with Max Factor makeup, false eyelashes and press on mails. With all of that, you'd think she would have also invented hair conditioner, but no.

Highlander - ah, good times, good times. That was such a fun show and had such a great fanbase. Lots and lots of good writing, both het and slash.

None of this makes me look forward to further encounters with Duncan's women. I do like Tessa, though, so it is disappointing that apparently apart from her he has zero taste.

Immortals seem surprisingly crap at inventing anything people would actually want. In the bronze age I imagine having press on nails was not something they yearned for on a regular basis.

"Boy Wonder". Do you mean Ritchie?

Yes! It's a cheap shot but he clearly is Robin in the amount of regular saving he needs....

Well, hang in there. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
