"You never hear women talking about wanting to leave a legacy or their place in history."

- The Dark Angel herself.

Aside from delightful moments like this, they never do try and make her at all convincing as a supersoldier, do they? I do especially, however, appreciate her in stealth mode. It involves a hilarious crouch, moving only in profile, and looking shifty. And in the post-apocalyptic future we will have only intermittent electricity, few medicines, but an inexhaustible supply of lip gloss.

ETA: Logan's manpain is a sad, half-hearted affair, though. But I love his emo rewatching of his shooting. THE AGONY, OH, THE AGONY of that tragic scene. It probably would have more impact if he didn't talk almost entirely in cliches.

I think the best thing that can be said about Alba's acting on Dark Angel is that it improves.

And I like the belief that giving someone cat DNA means that they can move faster than bullets. It shows a touching lack of knowledge about the animal kingdom.

And I only just realized that Logan is that guy from NCIS. I liked him when that girl they killed off was on. But I have strong feelings about her replacement and have not quite worked out why that show is on the History Channel.

SHE GOES ON HEAT? HONESTLY? THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED TO ME. I WAS THINKING FELINE DNA = CAT PEOPLE AND FALLING ON YOUR FEET FROM GREAT HEIGHTS. BUT NOT THAT IT MEANT SHE GOES ON HEAT.

Also, Alba still has the emotional range of citrus fruit. We might be moving on to oranges, though.

Someone please, please tell me we don't get Jessica Alba's inane voiceover throughout the entire series. I am also glad to hear that come the technological apocalypse we will all be sort of happy.

ETA: Jessica Alba is like the female Daniel Henney. So very pretty and so incapable of acting. It's almost cute in its own way, though she shows all the emotional range of a grapefruit.

I now possess the first season of Dark Angel for a mere $20! I held off on the second season just in case post-apocalyptic feline DNA and evil twins* failed to grip me. They also had Witchblade but it was $90. Despite the no doubt great thrill of watching womanpain and swords shooting out of people's arms, $90 seems a little excessive.

*I have no idea how these fit into the story but I cannot wait to find out. I hope they're connected, like the evil twin is really made out of cat parts or something. That's why she's evil - you know, like Cat People.
