Worship the TV

I now have a giant TV in my living room. It is all flat and shiny and so very big that it looks like I should be setting up an altar and sacrificing virgins to it. I am rather hoping that BSG tonight has many large explosions on it so that I can admire them.

In other news rotten i-tunes took back purchased music from my ipod because I switched to a new computer and you have to authorize the computer. Funny they don't mention when you BUY THE MUSIC that one day you will plug your ipod into your new computer and the mighty hand of Apple will reach into it and take music off your playlist. You will get some of the stuff back by clicking on EACH AND EVERY SONG and reauthorising it. I guess the next step is people from Apple turning up on my doorstep when I move and taking away my CDs. After all, I moved around and thus they aren't mine until I prove that they are! Last music I buy online.

New shiny TV and new shiny BSG; I am not jealous, no no... Congratulations on the consumerist joy. :-)

I'm pretty sure you can authorize the computer just once, by selecting Authorize from the Advanced menu. Don't give up on Apple yet...

Thanks for the advice - I did try that but it still made me click on them all; actually it wasn't so much that that got me annoyed. It was the taking of the music off my ipod. I can't work out how precisely that helps with anti-copying and anti-piracy or why they think they were entitled to do that!

Oh well. You can upload them to the iPod again, can't you? It would really suck if you couldn't. (When I upgraded my mac, I had to reauthorize, but it didn't make me click things individually. That's weird.) The RIAA is really stupid; I'm sure Apple wouldn't do all this digital rights crap if they hadn't been forced to.

It could be a mad PC thing or something like that. Maybe Microsoft getting back at the ipod popularity :-).

I got most of them back on the ipod, and Apple will let me download the few that seem to have sudden issues again. So it's all good, even if I am still unreasonably annoyed :-).

And thanks again for the advice. The internet is a great place!
