Rome!

This would totally have been a much better hour of TV if they hadn't had the nekkid women. And I'm not sticking that behind a spoiler cut because this is HBO and HBO always has the naked women and I can't believe that's a spoiler to anyone. The sex scenes were really kind of rubbish and poorly thought out, though the rest was fun. And hooray for creepy Octavian!

ETA: Er..I do totally have deep and meaningful thoughts about this show and am not all shallow and going 'oooh doesn't Rome look nice' but I can't seem to forumulate them at the moment.

I didn't mind the nekkid women at all, but I'd like to request an equal number of attractive nekkid men. Just to be fair.

You know what bothered me more than the female nudity? The fact that in ancient Rome, apparently they all had neatly trimmed bikini waxes. Because, really? I don't think so.

I do know what you mean about not being able to formulate coherent thoughts - I think I need to see a few more episodes before I get into any kind of analysis. But I loved Atia (mostly because I really like Polly Walker), and I liked her son as well. Felt bad for her daughter.
