I am finally back watching kdramas, starting with Last Scandal in which I want to smack almost everyone. I know it's unfair but that includes the doormat heroine. I can only get through it by leaning on the FF button very hard.

So far:
1. More bad perms an episode than I can count
2. No one has shown any signs at all of expiring from a terminal illness or having inappropriate stepsibling love
3. There have been about 80,000 aigoos
4. Evil other woman (also with bad perm) has returned to doubtless torment people as she strokes her Persian cat (not kidding about that: she has a white Persian cat, which how I knew she was evil the moment I saw her. I expect her to say 'no, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die' any second now)

ETA: Decided to switch over to Cain and Abel for a bit. I bet everyone dies in that one, given that it starts with the hero collapsing in a bloody mess after struggling across a desert.

ETA 2: As warned by [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie people are remaining distressingly manpainfree in Cain and Abel. Lots of emo doctor standing around is about it. Complete with graphic surgery, which as I know from lots of kdramas is necessary to cure all ailments in Korea.

In unrelated news I really wish that my neighbours upstairs would stop building the Ark or whatever the hell other woodwork project they have going up there.

I really hate to disappoint your blood lust but C&A is unlikely to satisfy the quest for mass carnage - I have seen it and I know! :)

If you are looking for something delighfully angsty and with wailing and rending of garments and gnashing of teeth, may I recommend Goodbye My Love which I am currently watching? Not only is the title like that is tremendously promising, the opening credits literally consist of nothing but the lead couple clutching each other and weeping as a Russian sad (but to a Russian speaker lyrically-not-too-appropriate for the situation) song plays over them. Mmmm. Delish.

Or if you want Jason Bourne levels of spyangst and manpain, how about IRIS? Trust the Koreans to outdo any other spy story with its devotion to suffering.

Yes. Cain and Abel has not yet lived up to the early promise of DEATH AND HORROR. And there is far too much surgery. I may check out Goodbye My Love.

Actually, I think I may have made some poor choices with my kdrama order. Clearly what I really wanted is one where people start bleeding in the second scene and never stop after that.

Cain & Abel only gets miserable AFTER HE GETS SHOT IN THE HEAD. But actually there is not much death as So Ji Sub is immune to the Grim Reaper and can survive anything.

Last Scandal bored me too. I dropped it after episode 7.

Getting shot in the head should be good for manpain.

(I went back to Last Scandal for a wee bit. I have dvds of it, so I think I might just skip though most of it. It's a kdrama. THERE MUST BE MANPAIN SOMEWHERE.)

"Will it snow for Christmas" is very angsty - there is even a brain tumour already!

A brain tumour! Tell me more - is it still airing. (ALSO I HAVE JUST GOTTEN LEGEND. But I am saving it until I can sit down and properly watch it.)

I liked Xmas but latest contrivance irritated me. Hero and heroine now pretend to be siblings because her mother went crazy and believes hero is her dead son (i.e. heroine's dead brother) so instead of dumping her in an institute, they live together platonically and pretend that's the case (and not 'pretend to Mom but have sex in our bedroom' but genuine pretend). I like angst and will lap up most excuses, but that's just dumb.

Oh! I haven't gotten to that part yet, but I think the hotness of Goo Soo will overcome it all. Actually, I think I like this - I haven't heard of anything soooooo deliciously crazy before.
