Jesus wept: over 80 dead at Utoya in Norway

The pictures are unbearable and I'm not even connected to the event. God knows what it must be like as a Norwegian. There is no sense to be made of this. None at all.

Yeah, it's kind of... I don't even want to look at pictures, it's too awful already. Yesterday I was all, 'wtf, Norway??' And then it kept getting worse.

I won't look at the pictures and yes, like you said. Norway? WFT? Another crazy with access to a gun. What a world.

Yeah, I'm staying away from the pictures right now. When I went to sleep they were saying seven dead. Now it's over ninety.

The scope of this is so horrific that it's almost unimaginable. It makes my heart break to know one human being could do this. So many lives ended, so many families wounded in ways they'll never recover from, because of one sick man with a gun and a knowledge of explosives. And I'm feeling it from thousands of miles away. And to be so helpless... With a natural disaster, people can donate, even go over to help, but with something like this...

i fell asleep early last night without having checked the nyt or bbc for a few hours, and the tragedy had increased tenfold since it began. it's devastating.

I couldn't believe it when I heard. Norway of all places. Those poor, poor people. :o(
