Wuxia Bourne: The Finest Thing I've Ever Seen

A while back inspired by [livejournal.com profile] calixa and [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore I did a picspam of Jason Bourne: Wuxia Hero. I was, however, but an amateur dabbling in the deep, deep waters of wuxia manpain.

[livejournal.com profile] calixa, on the other hand, is a master. And, lo, she has taken her skills and created a video that proves once and for all the essential manpain laden, tragic, and wuxiaish nature of Jason Bourne.

Look upon this work of staggering genius and despair:

It is saddening to think that at the ripe old age of 26, I have only managed to record a couple of scrappy a capella songs. Whereas calixa has produced a thing of great splendour and beauty that will bring joy and delight to many, many people around the world and ages.

I think what I am most proud of is that I made the entire thing in Windows Movie Maker, the video editing tool of the devil.

We all fade into insignificance compared with Calixa. It is very humbling.

There is so much to be proud of I am not even sure where you would start.

BTW, I ordered The Little Fairy. I cannot wait.

I bow down before [livejournal.com profile] calixa and her brilliant work of emo manpain.

I've watched this more times than I care to admit and each time I thrill to Jason Bourne's agony set to wuxia music.

You know I am going to spend the entire time just waiting for the flying carpet death.

[identity profile] calixa.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
It is the highlight of the series. The screaming manpain scenes are a close second on my favourite moments list.

Screaming manpain fills me with a much glee as Jason Bourne has misery over Marie's death. After that I will get 'Sword Stained with Royal Blood' because I want to see the bunny courting.

[identity profile] calixa.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
I watched the second film for the first time this weekend in preparation for vidmaking, and was very stunned by Marie's death. Especially the underwater CPR and then the amazingly wuxiaish manner in which he let her lifeless body drift away as he watched...

The bunny courting is great! I have to finish watching that one so I can assist [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore in her shipper thread forum battles.

That was a wonderful video. And just think of what it could evolve into when the third movie is released on DVD.

I am so excited to think that there could more canon for her genius to play with.

[identity profile] lage-nom-ai.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

That is the greatest vid OF ALL TIME.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
YES!

Yes you must...and then you can experience the sheer absurdity of people claiming that Qing Qing "forced" one girl to marry her senior(who deserved far better than to be her second choice after trying to literally replace QQ didn't work out for her) and that she "forced" another to become Chengzhi's student (apparently because she figured out Chengzhi was nuts about QQ the second she met them and used it to manipulate them, and was only interested in learning martial art's from Chengzhi) They seem to think that without QQ, he would have fallen for any girl to come along...

And let us not forget the amazingness of a frog made out of ice that can suck all poison out of a body by touching it...

[identity profile] calixa.livejournal.com 2007-10-02 06:46 am (UTC)(link)
See?

Not that you particularly need help, but...

The frog thing sounds glorious. Another medical moment I am fond of is when Liu Shi Shi said licorice cures all poisons in Young Warriors.

This is indeed a work of great genius! I love the little captions - "tragic lover" (kissing dead girlfriend!), "mad driving skills" and so forth. A classic!

[identity profile] lesbiassparrow.livejournal.com 2007-10-03 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
I am torn between my admiration for the selection of song and the captions. Bourne's manpain is so thoroughly impressive it never fails to please me.

[identity profile] lesbiassparrow.livejournal.com 2007-10-03 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
It gets right to heart of Bourne's eternal appeal: his excellent and glorious manpain.
