Beverly Hills 90210: the new incarnation

My god, I hate all of these people. Except for crazy granny, she's okay, though clearly slumming it on this show. And stop trying to convince me you are 15! Can't you exploit actual 15 year olds?* Or people who are at least under 25.

And why does the one black kid allowed in Beverly Hills have white parents? TELL ME THESE THINGS, OH FLIST.

* The English teacher looks younger than most of his students. Maybe he is one of the poor who has worked his way through college at the age of 14 so he can teach the rich kiddies?

ETA: Clearly if I want a teens angst in high school show I should watch Gossip Girl. I would but I am so scared that there is no way that Chuck Bass on my TV can possibly match up what I've heard and seen of him.

Matt on Nip/Tuck was hard to take as a 17 year old, but at least he was the only one. This time they seem to have found a whole slew of much too old actors.

I should really watch Gossip Girl, but I've heard such splendid things about it and Chuck that I am terrified I will be disappointed.

Oh in that case it probably will be a let-down lol, I'd never rave over Gossip Girl as a show that people must watch or anything. It's more a fun guilty pleasure type show. I mean I think it's better than some people give it credit for, but a lot of it's appeal rests solely on Chuck and Blair. The other characters tend to be quite bland.

And it hurts the show for me when for example it's Matt from Nip/Tuck or Clark from Smallville that we're supposed to relate too as an angsty teenage boy. When the actor looks like he's in his mid 20's, well I know for me that I tended to side a lot more with Lex during their arguments, and maybe if Clark had actually looked 15/16, I might have seen that characters POV more. So I think it does hurt the show as well when they get too ridiculous with it. But then Lana, Chloe, and Pete all looked age-appropriate funnily enough hee, so Clark really did stick out like a sore thumb
