Bizarre TV Watching

The programme itself isn't bizarre, as it's the eminently respectable CSI:NY, but the way I am watching it is. All I am watching are the bits with Danny and Lindsay in them so I have a totally skewed view of what's going on. I don't see crimes solved, I don't see resolutions, all I see are two people interacting (sometimes with other people around). It's all very post-modern or something of that ilk.

And they are very cute. Though I am saddened that Lindsay no longer corrects Danny when he calls her Montana because she looks rather charming when annoyed.

ETA: Oh! Gnarly, yet kindly coroner type person told Lindsay that Danny calls her Montana because he has a crush on her. And she does this sort of downward and then quick upward looking thing that you do when you're not sure what to do with information you've just been given.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.

That's the same episode where Danny calls her over to show her the view (because he TOTALLY wants to impress her) and then she's all "...have you ever even seen a wheat field?" and then Danny is all "..."

HE HAS A CRUSH ON HER. EVEN THE ME KNOWS IT. FLAIL.

I saw that bit! He is clearly trying to impress her with the wonders of NY as some sort of strange courtship ritual and she doesn't even realise it. She thinks he is making an actual point of some sort. I bet he bangs his head against his desk saying 'better than cornfields? Year, right, the ladies love that sort of talk.'

I KNOW! I agree! I think he feels compelled to point out to her all the ways in which NY is more awesome than Montana, as, like, a prelude to going "So you wanna get married and live here with me forever, or what?"

I love them so much.

He fears she wants to go back and ride horses on the range. Soon he will be pointing out the police horses in central park as being better than those ones in the mid-west.

That would be the greatest thing EVER.

And she would be all confused and think it is a real comparison and start talking about quarter-horses and saddles and he will stand there with an odd expression on his face, like Pandora when she opened the box.

Also, why is there not fic about her wondering what he actually thinks Montana is like and her asking him and it turns out he thinks it is something like the wild west, only with electricity. And she is 'Well, not all of it. Not everyone has a horse. Though we have a lot of guns.' And he then goes to the library to take out something on Montana and comes back to her with facts about it. And she is "...".

SIGH!

For the same reason that there's not any fic about ANYTHING, presumably. Grumble!

(Did you see the clips from "Zoo York"? Where they walk into the meat locker and Danny goes "Lotta meat!" and Lindsay goes "Back home, people keep this much meat in their basement." and Danny says "We do what we can."? I LOVE THAT BIT. He is so smitten with her, immediately.)

Oh yes. And clearly he wonders what they do in Montana and how much meat they eat and if he is eating enough, because otherwise he will one day be a disappointment to her.

And then she knows about football too.

Also people do not write the correct sort of fic. I know I said I'd write you something, but I have only watched the Danny and Lindsay bits so I have a very odd view of the show.
