Bond

Saw Bond for the second time and I am still so very much in love with it. And this time I didn't just goggle at the amount of times they decided it would be great to beat Bond up and show the blood and his wounded body. Well, I did a bit, but then I noticed other things. Not sure what they are right now, mind you.

But the trailers! What the hell is 'We are Marshall'? This what I got from the trailer: Oh look! We'll honour a giant plane crash of athletes...by playing football as an homage. And everyone will be brought together through realising that this is the best way to deal with grief. And there'll be something about race and really bad clothes, but the two are not necessarily related. While it is no doubt very sad that all those people died I find it hard to get worked up about 'the greatest tragedy in college sports history.' As far as tragedies go it isn't exactly the most compelling one to focus on. Though maybe this film was made by the Rocky people as managed by comparison to make the new Rocky trailer look slightly less awful.

What a fabulous idea -- fake movie trailers to make a bad movie look better. Pity someone actually felt it necessary to make this one. (Inspirational Sports Movie #726: We Are Running Out of Ideas and It Was This or the One About the Curling Champ Who Lost His Puppy The Night Before The Big Match)

I am jumping on the Daniel Craig Bond love bandwagon; my usual reaction to the Bond franchise is to use it to get the current man in my life (since the franchise has lasted far longer than any of my relationships) to trade off for something *I* want to see, but thanks to Mr. Craig, I got the Bond mystique for the first time. And the hotness. And the damage.

the One About the Curling Champ Who Lost His Puppy The Night Before The Big Match

Hee! This one I might pay to see... Maybe it's in development even as I write?

I quite like Bond films in general - they're always pretty safe bets on the action front, but this one... Well, I've never gone to any Bond movie twice. And thought about buying the DVD.

It's a true story. I hate football, but I may not be able to resist a movie that has both Matthew McConaughey and Matthew Fox, horrid 70s clothes and hair or not. Plus Ian McShane. I doubt I'll see it in the theater, but I will be seeing it eventually.

I hoped it was really a true story otherwise it would be a horrible one to make up. But while I do like Matthew Fox McConaughey looked so hideous and unappealling on all fronts that I think he negated Matthew Fox's presence. Besides all MF does according to the trailer is sag around the place being wounded and not getting together a new football team, as he apparently should.

I feel cheated. We only got the Rocky trailer. Though it did make the Spiderman III trailer look that much awesomer by comparison.

This was my first time seeing a whole Bond movie instead of just snippets. It was very cool.

I got a whole set of horrific trailers many of which are surely contenders for the 'worst film ever' category based on them probably showing us the good bits. But Spiderman looked rather good.

I have seen CR three times so far, and I am seriously considering the fourth time, it's that good. I love that movie and love Daniel Craig, I saw his film Layer cake, and it's official ..I am smitten:D(Layer cake is an excellent British crime drama).
trailers
Spiderman3: blah, very disappointing, I hate when you try and cover the suckiness of the trailer with bombastic music.

The pursuit of happiness: looks extremely cheesy, and I hated the speeches will smith character was giving his son.

we are marshal: ehh...didn't do much for me.

Rocky Balboa: could this film be worse? ugh!! horrible acting

I plan to get Layer Cake via net flix soon. Because Daniel Craig is so very fine.

Spiderman looked remarkly good by comparison with the other trailers so I gave it a pass on those grounds. At least it didn't make me wince!

I am feeling giddy these days after discovering another good actor to like :)
Daniel Craig was awesome in Layer Cake, the film is really well done. People who trashed him after his casting for Bond should have watched that movie and road to perdition to see what a good actor he is,and he exudes charisma on the screen...then they should have shut the hell up!

I didn't really have any advance feeling on Daniel Craig (good or bad) because I don't think I've ever seen him in anything. But wow! I was absolutely blown away; he did an amazing job with it - and the script and other actors were also excellent (without a decent actress as Vesper this would not have worked half as well).
