Torchwood: Cyberwoman

Okay, whatever you might say about that episode, that was quality manpain right there. I haven't seen manpain that excellent in a Western production since Bourne.

Also, I think I may rewatch that Young Riders episode with Jimmy and Emma in the fort. Please don't judge me, because I am already doing enough of that myself.

ETA: Okay, so what is it with Young Riders and whorehouses? Now The Kid has been embroiled in a fracas in one involving a hooker and is now in jail. It is all Very Shocking.

What was it about Ianto's (and/or Jack's?) manpain that you found excellent?

The screaming! Normally in Western productions they backpedal on the screaming and the wailing and gnashing of teeth, but here Ianto went right for it. I appreciate that very much.

Though I felt bad for poor Lisa who got stuck in a metal bikini and then shot.

Hee. Gareth David-Lloyd did indeed provide wailing and crying and snotty distraught aplenty.

The Cyberwoman vs. Pteranodon fight (with BBQ sauce!) was actually classier than the fight between Mick St. John and a 200-year-old impotent teenage perv boy vampire with a whore fixation that took place on a roller coaster with slow-motion pretend-running footage of stuntpeople walking very carefully on the roller coaster rails (after rescuing the damsel in distress and before yet more Totally Inappropriate Sexual Tension between Mick and Beth).

I catch bits of Moonlight from time to time...and, yes, I really don't feel I am missing much. I caught a bit with Mick sniffing the air in this one. Sniffing the air.

And a Dalek could totally have taken that bird.

Mick does a lot of sniffing. ObHenryFitzroy: "I'm a vampire, not a bloodhound."

A Dalek would have turned Myfanwy into BBQ with one blast.
