Twilight. WILL IT NEVER END?

I can't not but be impressed that Meyer made a fortune out of four books which have as their basic plot a teenage girl trying to get her boyfriend have sex with her.* And that boyfriend holding out for her making an honest man out of him. Now, that's genius.

*It's the teen version of Joseph Andrews! I just couldn't think what plot it reminded me of.

Also: still not sleeping.

Yeah, I actually think that was one positive aspect of the books, the role reversal. Now if only she could write in readable sentences...
Have you been overdoing the caffeine?

The role reversal is massively entertaining to me. The books are terrible, but I always find that hilarious.

I'm not sure what it is - I'm only drinking coffee in the morning as usual so I don't think it's that. Every so often I go through a phase like this, though, usually it lasts a few weeks and then I get over it.

Check out American Virgin, by Steven Seagle ( not the Hollywood cretin), for a better-written example of the "reluctant male virgin" narrative.
Coming to think of it, Byron's Don Juan is a reluctant rake.

That is my main problem with Twilight in a nutshell. It never, ever ends.

True, that. But I am still unreasonably entertained by Edward's mad efforts to remain a virgin until marriage despite Bella's best efforts.
