The Saddest Spies in the World

Because people want to must know who the saddest spies are:

1. Jason Bourne, Wuxia Hero

2. Lucas Shaw, Spooks: The Spy with the Manly Prison Tattoos of Anguish

3. Tom Quinn (see below)

Clearly, spying = life of misery and ruining the lives of women who love you.

Heeeee! Even with your helpful picspam, I couldn't figure out Tom Quinn's life aside from all the moping. And a shot of Giles! (And was that House in there, too?)

Also, where does New!Bond rank? It's hard to mope when in exquisitely tailored chinos, but somehow he managed.

You and me both. I have watched seven episodes featuring him and his deep, abiding angst and I have no idea what makes him tick.

New Bond gets points for the necrokissing of his dead love, but he is a long way back from the top three.

I have a favour to ask of you. I am going through a very dark period in my life, and only your picspams are making life bearable for me. Could you please do a picspam on womanpain, so I can laugh at my own drama queen tendencies as embodied in other heroines? A bit of bollywood, a bit of wuxia, a bit of kdrama, I'd love them all. Take your time, I can wait.

Sorry that you're going through such a rough time. I will try and think of a picspam, but one of my issues is always that I tend to feel for womanpain in a way that I don't for manpain. It makes me sad rather than gloriously entertained. But I will see what I can do - I think it's easier with one actress/character. Maybe Choi Ji-woo. She's always suffering in her kdramas. And she cries beautifully.

Thanks a lot.

In the historical category, I'd like to nominate the spies in the movie, "The Spy Who Came in from the Cold". That has manpain on both sides of the Iron Curtain.

Oooh. Good one. That's a nice collective set of spypain, if I remember correctly.

I had never seen this before and it seriously made my day. It also made me interested in. . .the other thing, where people carry coffins into rivers. Is that on tv somewhere?

I don't really know (I can't even remember what the coffin one is called). Channel 18 (or whatever the Korean one in LA is) sometimes has kdramas - it might have wuxias too. Some of them stream on vikii as well, I think.

Oh! Thanks.
