lesbiassparrowEvery time I watch the Borgias, I keep thinking how much more fun the papacy would be if it were like that now. Maybe not with the murder and the wars all over Italy, but the mistresses! And making your sons cardinals! And having sexy performances in the Vatican! I look at Benedict and shake my head at how far the papacy has fallen.
I think that I may be the only person in the world who likes Ursula. I think I shall keep liking her just because the people on TWOP loathe her so much because she (according to them) looks like a horse and takes time away from Lucretia. Admittedly, I don't think asking Cesare Borgia to free her was the wisest thing she could have said, but then she had no idea a cardinal would take that as a sign to go out and personally murder her husband. It's not like at this point Cesare Borgia had much of a track record (it's hard to remember that he's only supposed to be 19 at this point) and that your first thought would be WELL IT'S ONLY SECONDS UNTIL I AM A WIDOW. HUZZAH. Bet she never makes that mistake again. Plus I did think she and Cesare were rather hot together. He with his sociopathic way of suggesting her husband was off whoring in Ostia while he was lying at the bottom of the Tiber thanks to himself. And she with her alms and her willingness to cavort with a cardinal while being oppressed by guilt. And, way to go, on trumping everything with the whole I AM A NUN NOW BECAUSE I MUST ATONE 4EVA thing. A lesser person would have just hung around being mopey and having guilty sex with Cesare. Ursula took it to a whole other level.
Plus, they need more fictional characters. I keep looking everyone up and working out how many more episodes they have to go and what horrible way they will die. I hope Ursula the Nun keeps popping up and surviving incredibly improbable scenarios. Maybe she can hook up someone how with the prince of Naples, who is the single most hilarious character on the show.
