And the womanpain. In fact they're about identical.

Yesterday my Little Fairy viewing was interrupted by a cruel power outage last night which ensured I was cut off from the sweet crack of wuxia angst.

So far I am sadly missing the loss of Saigin, who appears to have fallen off a cliff or something. And Handsome is all about Cat Girl now which strikes me as very unkind as she wandered off to look for him. And are we ever told how Cat Girl became a human? Or her sister went from being a tree? My DVDs did some sticking at various moments so I am afraid I might have missed it.

And Handsome forgiving evil magistrate who tortured Sweet Potato and his parents seems a bit unkind. I wanted smiting. And Fu Sian only has to give back the property? Pshaw, I say.

ETA: Handsome, well all I can say is that I am VERY disappointed with you what with the marrying of Cat Girl (even though I like Cat Girl) and the sudden turn towards serial killing (of friends too!). I hope Saigin finds someone to replace you, but I bet she doesn't and just returns for massive amounts of angst.

ETA 2: Handsome asks 'what is so good about me?' and I have no answer. Now he has both Cat Girl and Saigin which is just unfair. I want to kick him repeatedly. And Saigin is so understanding that she is sure to die soon.

ETA 3: Oh feck. I had forgotten death by flying carpet.

I got a DVD cleaner and now my Little Fairy DVDS are fixed as if by magic! Before it would get to Sweet Potato (and I won't use his real name because that one is too good) staggering after the magic chariot which was taking his true love back to the heavens and then stick. This time I got to see the entire scene in all of its screaming, manpain glory. And it was sweet, perhaps the sweetest thing I have ever seen. He screamed and writhed on the muddy ground as he wailed!! Soooo goood.

[livejournal.com profile] calixa and [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore forgive me for ever doubting you.

ETA: Now they are beating Sweet Potato's parents for the sin of giving their magic gold to the poor. Clearly this is written by the same delightful people who wrote such happy tales as 'Trojan Women' and 'The Theban Cycle.'

ETA 2: OMGWTF Handsome has been stabbed and accused of attempted rape by the (suddenly) evil brother of the emperor? Just when he could have saved Sweet Potato from torture? You know, tomorrow I am going to have to stay in my office so I don't come home and waste hours on this sweet, delicious crack.

ETA 3: I have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of what I should have done tonight (god, I am going to have to get up early tomorrow) thanks to the Little Fairy. But OMG the wonderful angst of it all. There is manpain and womanpain aplenty. I can't quite work out who Cat Girl is, though, as there was still some stickage at pivotal moments. I must say I don't really care as they also have thrilling misery as they stumble through the desert in search of the tree of life (yeah, like that one will turn out well).

ETA 4: I love Sweet Potato and his family: they are absolutely the nicest people ever. I also have fallen embarrassingly in love with the theme song.

ETA 5: Handsome! NOOOOOOO! Don't die and leave Saigin all alone!!!!!! And poorly CGIed vultures, I really love you.

ETA 6: Poor Sweet Potato. It is all so sad: he doesn't even remember the Little Fairy! How could you forget Ariel Lin? And he is all alone as his parents died in a fire making dinner for his school friends. How is that for misery?

ETA 7: I am pleased to report that there is no one happy at all in this wuxia. Except for the evil people. They're really happy.

With gods in drag watching! How much do I love it? As much as I love the vacant expression in Hu Ge's eyes, that's how much.

But that was a long, long wait. And I think I may have to give up on this as my DVDs keep sticking at pivotal moments of angst and it's rather frustrating.

ETA: It seems as if disc 3 is fairly buggered, so I think I will have to give up on this as I can only watch about half the scenes.

ETA 2: Clearly the gods never want me to see the angstorama that is Winter Sonata. Or Endless Love. I have bought these two times and each time THERE ARE NO SUBTITLES. I am currently watching Shoot for the Stars. This is not a satisfactory substitute.

ETA 3: Holy god, is Shoot for the Stars bad. Plus the lead actress' voice goes through me like a knife. But it has Jo in Sung in it... I am caught in a terrible dilemma. CURSE YOU NON FUNCTIONING LITTLE FAIRY DVDS. *shakes fist impotently at the heavens*

ETA 4: When I say that Shoot for the Stars is bad, you'd better believe me. I am caught between loathing for the heroine and her soul destroying voice (seriously: it could probably depopulate planets) and also contempt for most of the other people. The illiterate want-to-be film star is rather nice but the rest of them...

When does the manpain start? I have finished the first disc but there is no manpain! Not a bit!

Wuxia!

Where have you been hiding all my life? I have seen only the credits for The Little Fairy and already I am enthralled.

ETA: For some reason that I do not at all understand, the hero is obsessed with apples. And sticking them in jam or something.

ETA 2: Beside our main plot we also have another one of a celestial being falling in love with a human who is now a teacher who wears a floppy hat. And the Little Fairy has turned a random god into a carrot.
