Setting aside the shipper side of myself too, Iif they want to defuse this whole situation they could go with it being Lee picking the legal government over Tigh,only with Laura going along with it instead of backing down. There was a whole replay of the gun in the face scene, only this time Laura called the bluff because it was her alone that was being threatened - and things had gotten so much worse.
I don't know about Laura's political celibacy. Did Voyager ever allow Janeway to have sex? I wonder if Ron Moore thought that was fine or not...
