Among other things I have been watching The Fallen, a miniseries of sorts involving the Emo Vampire Brother from Vampire Diaries trying to look like he cares about possibly being the scourge of all nations. It is about fallen angels. Or rather the offspring of fallen angels and humans that God wants to kill. Well, we can't be sure that God still is all keen on the killing, because it looks like the angels he sent out to kill offspring might no longer have a direct line to heaven. But clearly in the past he was down with slaughtering people and sent them merrily off to kill 18 year olds whose major offence was to be the offspring of rebellious angels. It seems like a bit of a wanker move whatever way you parse it, but one has to hope the supreme being knows what he's doing.
Even by my admittedly minimal standards, this one represent a new low. I mainly watch it because I rather like watching the actors say Nephalim (which is the name of the offspring). They do this a lot in a rather desperate attempt to add a certain dignity to a plot which involves bad CGI, teenagers with wings (that magically vanish when needed), people shrieking about destiny/heaven/whether god even still cares or is off washing the car for a really long time and has forgotten about the whole KILL THEM ALL PLAN - and angelic emo. Or Nephalim emo. Nephalim! The very word just sounds like the sort of cheapo angel you get when you light a candle in a church and only want to put 10p in the slot.
There's also a talking dog, which works about as well as you would expect.
