Mawang and Pride

I'm only on the first episode but it has a lovely creepy feel to it, which is appropriate for a show about a serial killer. I haven't seen too many Korean dramas since I was a bit disappointed by Winter Sonata (which my local Asian TV station was playing) and by some of the others I've seen. I don't know...they all seemed to be shot on videotape and looked rather cheap. Of course, there were some issues with some of the subs I had for some of the ones I bought on Ebay as well. But this one is lushly shot and looks very sleek and disturbing. But I don't know when I will have time to watch it and all the other doramas I now want to see.
As for Pride I quite love it.
Especially now that old boyfriend has reappeared. You know he's a wrong 'un because he's too superconfident of the hold he has over Aki. And she looks all beat down and unwilling when she goes to see him. She looks like a woman under some form of compulsion. I am not sure what sort of compulsion but clearly this was not a healthy relationship even before he left and didn't contact her for two years.
But how she is with him makes sense of how she is with Halu. And there will surely be Halu angst which will be quite excellent to watch - especially as he was the twit who came up with the idea of having a relationship which was a game and is always going on about how icemen can't love. Silly man - has he never seen the umpteen kids that NHL players always seen to drag on the ice when they win the Stanley Cup? If it's good enough for Gretzky it should be good enough for you!
