So the hero, In-Ha (he of the monstrous teeth), has left the lovely heroine thinking he's dead. For a year. A whole year in which it took her a bloody lot to come out of her mad depression at his supposed demise. And now he's back in Korea battling it out with the other guy who is in love with her through buying property and casino rights. But has he bothered to tell her that he's alive? A phone call even? NOT ON YOUR LIFE BECAUSE THAT WOULD END HER MISERY.

I can't help thinking he's a right bastard because of this. I don't care if he plans on unveiling himself at right moment once he's built his dream house. I don't care if there is some larger point: it's the second time he had to leave her all on her own (the first time was when he had to hie off to the USA because people thought he'd killed someone). What sort of rat bastard leaves the person they love twisting in the wind? And I don't get the feeling that it's for her own good he's doing it either: he's planning on coming back into her life for sure and not leaving her in peace with Rival in Love guy. I hope she runs off with Rival in Love guy. That'd show him. Though I suspect she becomes a nun or something instead.

ETA: Oh right: he likes to hang around and be glimpsed by her, thus causing her to run around looking for him like a mad woman. Because he is a total and utter RAT BASTARD. With giant teeth.

Ok, this is even better than a telenovela. I wish I understood Korean.

Most Korean (and Asian dramas) are subtitled by fans, so you could fall victim to the bitter-sweet fruit of eternal doom (aka dorama addiction) :)

As Scottishlass said below these all come subbed (even my local Korean station in LA shows them with subs). Which is just as well as I know about 5 words of Korean.

ps.

Warning: they are highly addictive especially if you like melodrama and wailing and gnashing of teeth and pretty people standing around angsting. Plus often nice scenery and snow. For some reason the Korean ones love snow.

It's 'All In.' It is a bit problematic for me because I quite frequently want to whack the hero with sticks. And then run him over.
