Romulus and the Sabines

I have only seen 10 minutes of this and already I can feel the urge to screen cap so I can share with you the sheer terrific ugliness of the first Romans and their clothing. What a knock-kneed bunch they were.

But I am most excited that this one has Roger Moore in it. Yes, that Roger Moore: the Saint, James Bonds, etc. was once Romulus, a roguish first king of Rome. Sadly, he is not all oiled up but I have hopes.

ETA: Romulus is wearing (what else) a very short tunic. He is also a) a bit of a wanker but b) king of ugliest bunch of men I've ever seen. No wonder the Romans couldn't get women.

Yes! He could challenge Glaucus in the last film for short skirt dominance. Apparently antiquity was beset by men wearing very short tunics in all weather.

Excellent. Perhaps it was easier jut to SHOW rather than grunt "mine are bigger than yours". Certainly saves money if they were paid by the line.

They were such manly men that they were above such petty pains. Personally, though, I'm a bit surprised that no one's, er, got anything caught on the saddle yet.

Romulus is rather a bastard in this. And RM is very scrawny so they might not have him stripped and oiled. But who can tell - they have all of these horribly ugly semi-nekkid Romans around.
