My very deep thoughts upon this Taiwanese miniseries about skullduggery and fashion design:
1. Sui (the heroine, prone to crying fits and somewhat self-absorbed) is very annoying. And dumb as a warren of rabbits. An intellectually challenged hamster could probably out think her.
2. Liang (the hero, who loves unbuttoned shirts) is very pretty. And is also very nice. As he has to put up with the eternally damp Sui as a girlfriend I believe he should run off with evil textile company queen who wants him for his body and his design skills.
3. Evil dad is great. He keeps separating his son (Liang) and Sui with an effortless ease that bespeaks years of evilness and plotting. And he smirks wonderfully and casts an aura of nastiness with careless abandon. I love evil dad.
4. Horrible teen star who is in love with Sui (like every other man except evil dad, who has taste) should run off with her and leave Liang for for the textile company queen. Or maybe just leave Liang to mope in disturbingly attractive pain and woe. Um.
5. Why did they drop the plot of evil dad running off with Sui's mum when Sui was a wee child? At least it gave her revenge fantasies some point.
And in other news,
meyerlemon, who has been posting about CSI: NY for a while (speciically about Danny from that show) posted a link to a picture of the aforementioned Danny. And all I can say is --- well, yes indeed. I do not know what it is about the picture, but despite the fact that I hate these sorts of programmes I now want to watch this show.
I'm less up in arms about the Doctor (though that's not exactly a nice suit they have him in) than Martha. That's one very pretty woman they've stuck in a horribly shiny brown jacket and made do odd sultryesque expressions or something that make her look odd and strangely stretched in the face. They did this a bit with Rose as well, so I guess it's the BBC phototographer, but they are not doing her any favours at all. (Look at this picture: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/gallery/doctormartha/1024/docmartha5.jpg). Hmm

Date: 2006-08-10 05:53 pm (UTC)Well, she did put up with entertaining Fabric Lady for Liang's sake :P But yeah, she is not much on giving, is she?
Btw, I don't know if you noticed, but the Fabric Lady is the same actress who played Qing Mei in Mars and plays Wei Yi's fiancee in Silence. She seems to have made a career of losing hunky men to other women.
Does evil dad keep her in a box and only bring her out if he wants to totally crush Sui?
Seriously. And why does Sui never think about it, at all?

Fabric lady looks much more similar in Mars and Silence (losing the same pretty boy twice, must be hard), but looks a lot different in this one. I wonder if tall women have to play the one what loses the man in all soaps, because the love interests seem to be tiny in my limited viewing. (With the exception of Peach Girl, but they make a point about that.)

I actually laughed out loud at this one. I do think that in Silence she is going to hook up with her very hunky basketball playing partner, so being her isn't that bad.

True. Hmmmm. I wonder why. As a very short girl myself, I am all for it though.
