They are power and Lee does not worship or follow power. He follows what is right, what he thinks to be right. And there are no stories he can tell to make himself feel better.
So true. And so very like his father in this. It reminds me of him asking his father about the Olympic Carrier and examining the mistakes. Lee has to live with the truths, whatever they are, and he will accept no comforting lie.
