HUGH JACKMAN'S PAST HAS RETURNED TO HAUNT HIM. AND THEY TOOK HIS SHIRT OFF. I would apologize for spamming your flist with this, but it is only 9 episodes and so you won't be bothered long.

OMG HE KILLED AN ENTIRE SHIP OF PEOPLE BY STEERING IT ONTO SOME ROCKS. I do not think there was a hat involved.

Still no Guy Pearce.

ETA: I love how the MacGregors discuss all of Jackman's deep trauma right in front of a complete stranger they have over for dinner. Niiiice.

HAHAHHAHAH. There is a great haunting scene with Jackman with actual ghosts descending on him.

ETA 2: This show has some of the most beautifully awful acting I have ever seen. It makes me weepy, it is so terrible. Plus, I think the Pastor's wife (the pastor is also a MacGregor) may have been a whore in the past.

ETA 3: Well, those were disappointing resolutions: no whoring, Jackman was cured and all is right with the world.

ETA 4: I don't know where Guy Pearce's cattle drive was going - possibly Antarctica - but it is taking the longest time ever. Though he is on the credits for every show. LIARS. I am sure you will be excited to know that this episode involves gypsy flamenco dancers. FOR REAL. One of them has an accordion.

ETA 5: I think the gypsy episode may have been my favourite of all. There was also a thief with a hook and prejudice. Which the MacGregors resolved because that's the sort of people they are.

Why do you torture us with posts about shirtless Jackman?! You know the rest of us don't have this damn Snowy River saga onhand!

Shirtless Jackman in the years before Wolverine is not what he later became. And you only really see the back.

To be honest, I was more disappointed in the whoring fizzle out. SHOW, WHY DO YOU LIE TO ME.

Still no Guy Pearce? That's false advertising! Bait and switch!

Even worse: THEY SHOW HIS IMAGE BEFORE EVERY EPISODE BUT HE NEVER APPEARS. LIES. ALL LIES.

I watched Man from Snowy River (the movie) years and years ago, and I don't remember anything except that I liked it.

You are making this vicarious viewing awesome. That's what I'm trying to say.

I have no idea what if any connection this has to The Man from Snowy River. I can only hope that has as much delightful cheese as this. It is quite beautiful. Quite, quite beautiful.

Wait--I don't think even I've seen the gypsy episode!

Have you gotten to where they completely replaced Danni yet?

I think they replaced her after the first episode in the pack I have. I hate the character, though, so I don't much care.

THE GYPSY EPISODE IS GREAT. ALMOST AS GOOD AS THE ONE WHERE JACKSON HEEDS THE CALL OF THE SEA ONCE MORE. That came right out of the blue.

Surely these highlights have made you want to get the whole damn thing, no Guy Pearce or no?

What kind of a show is it, like is it drama, does it have silly mysteries for the characters to solve etc?

But it's 66 episodes! I am enjoying the cheesy joy of it, but not that much.

I find it hard to describe. It really is like Little House on the Prairie mixed with Young Riders and perhaps a little Bonanza. And topped with cheese.

I am feeling very tempted to picspam it but stills cannot capture the full glory of mustaches and horrible writing. I howled with laughter at least 4 times every episode. AWESOME.

Hee! That would be awesome. Your picspams are a thing of beauty and cheese. And you know I like all manner of cheese.
