You know that button on Amazon.com, the one that says 'please ship my order into as few shipments as possible'? It used to be that this meant that if they were waiting for one item a few days they'd hold your order, otherwise they'd ship the stuff off and then wait for the one item. Not anymore: I placed an order at the beginning of December. When I went to check on the order status, it turned out that they were holding it until the end of February. No explanation or anything for why such a delay. As two of the items were Christmas presents I just cancelled the entire order, emailed their customer service in a snit and will now spend the weekend trying to see if I can buy the items anywhere else.

Bastards - this makes some things very awkward for me. It's the second time they've done this to me, but then at least they emailed me about a month long delay. But I think I will be shopping elsewhere than Amazon for as much as possible from now on.

How stupid of them. In my experience, they've been very good at keeping me up to date, and they were very good recently with a marketplace seller screwing me over.

Sorry they're giving you trouble. But if that's their new policy, I bet they're going to hear about it from customers.
