Bad Guy

You know I've seen endings to kdramas where everyone gets shot, people walk into the sea, get run over by lorries, fall over in the street drunk with soju while crying out the name of the wife they dumped so they could marry a rich woman, and play angsty pianos on beaches after their wives have died of eye cancer they got when they were run over by their step-sister. So believe me, at this point, I am hard to annoy or even surprise. But, Bad Guy I SHAKE MY FIST AT YOU. YES, THERE IS FIST SHAKING. WHAT WAS THAT ENDING?

EVEN MRS. SHIN WHO IS EVIL BEYOND EVIL AND IS A NOSE AHEAD IN THE WORST KDRAMA PARENT EVER RACE* IS NOT SMITTEN DOWN AS SHE SHOULD BE.

*This means that she is very evil indeed, given that her competition involves the guy who beat his son with his golf clubs and the father in Spring Waltz who not only stole the money the heroine needed for an operation but sold her into slavery.

It filled me with impotent rage of the sort I haven't felt in a while. Even the normal 'rock fall, everyone dies' melodrama ending is better. At least in those the evil suffer along with the good.

ETA: Sorry to have missed you on Sunday. I got stuck in dispersal which meant I spent 3 hours trying to stop bystanders form getting run over. :)

See, this is why I think I should give kdramas a miss: I can't handle *any* kind of sad ending. Mind you, an ending that's unhappy for the good and happy for the bad would be a special kind of torment. What sort of gloomy sadists wrote this drama, anyway?

No problem about Pride. Just glad you kept the moronic bystanders of our fair city from meeting a sticky end. So, after the godawful volunteer experience, how was the afterparty?

Sometimes I enjoy the tragic endings if the drama is so OTT that I don't really care about anyone (the one with the lorry running over the guy after he had been carrying his dead girlfriend around on the beach for hours was quite entertaining that way). But I do think that many of the writers of Kdrama are driven by the need to outdo whatever tragic drama last topped the ratings.

The afterparty - well, um, I had been out the night before and had a rather terrific hangover, so I turned up had one drink and then had to go home and lie down. I was very sad about this.

Ooooh, which one is the walking-into-the-sea one? I want to see that.

It's in Stained Glass. But it's really annoying as it is the terminally ill Eyebrows who does it and it means the Hero and Heroine don't get together because of the GUILT. Even though Eyebrows is a total wanker.

Please refresh my memory as to the kdrama where the person gets eye cancer after being hit by a car. People do not believe me when I tell them this happened in a drama.

Stairway to Heaven! I cannot believe people doubt its wondrous existence. Fie on them!

I know! Every single person I've told about this phenomenon has looked at me like I was crazy.

*goes off to spread the word among the unbelievers*

Not sure how far you are up to but: after Mrs. Shin puts the hit on GW, he survives. She unmasks him as the real son and TS as a fake at a shareholder meeting. GW turns up and she gets tossed in jail. JI tells TS that she wants to be with GW; he sort of takes it well and shuffles off to be his own person. But just when happiness is there for main couple Mo Ne shoots him with his own gun; he wanders off all bloody and dies of blood loss, JI has no idea where he is and thinks he's out there somewhere; Mo Ne never gets caught, Tae Ra becomes head of company and Mrs Shin gets let out of jail on appeal. So basically all the nice people suffer and Mrs Shin and Mo Ne go on and lead their normal lives. IT SUCKS.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking it all gonna end like something similar, but I was hoping for clearer cut and for JI being left with TS support (and some future hints)

It pisses me off that in the end Mrs. Shin still got everything she wanted. How long was she even IN jail?

I KNOW. If they had even left it with her being punished I'd have been okay. But her getting out of jail! THAT'S JUST EVIL BEING REWARDED.
