So I watched part of that film with Sean Bean fighting sloths and zombies in primeval times that aren't actually primeval because, of course, zombies are all that is left after civilisation has collapsed. Well, of course, there are some incredibly annoying non-zombie people living in a community with two rather unappealing looking heroes. GOD, I THOUGHT I COULD WATCH ANYTHING BUT THIS...THIS DEFEATED ME. I imagine Mr. Bean was paid handsomely for appearing on set for about two days but he should feel deep, deep shame. Even going by his often low standards this set new lows. THE AGONY. About the only thing that would make me watch the end is if someone promised me that everyone was eaten by a giant sloth that feasted on their hearts.

Also:
1. I read the Percy Jackson series at the recommendation of a student. They were surprisingly fun, though that kid has worse luck than Hercules. I think I will buy the follow ons which have the gods with Roman names.
2. I watched Centurion, with the killer Picts facing off against the Romans. I always imagine the Romans spent one afternoon in Scotland, retreated at the cold and build Hadrian's Wall in a feverish attempt to cut down on wind chill
3. Have enjoyed Lost Girl. It's one of those lovely series where I like everyone except the people I am supposed to hate. V. soothing.
4. Let my shaming Merlin addiction run its course. It was fun, but I don't think I am quite cured yet. THE SHAME. THE SHAME.

Man, a while ago I remember coming across a post where someone was whining about Gwen and Lancelot and how it was ruining their Arthur/Gwen OTP.

... do people seriously don't know how that story goes? I mean, I've never watched this show so I can't comment on how it might be adapting the legend but... come on. WHAT DO YOU FREAKING EXPECT?

There are also remarkably people out there who seemed to think a) Morgana wouldn't turn evil and b) Arthur would confess his undying love for Merlin. I don't care what you write in fanfic or ship, but thinking this strikes me as remarkably optimistic.

...I fell for a. *hides* It was such a bright, cheery show! I thought early on she would be redeemed somehow!

They tease b so much, though. It isn't gonna happen, EVER, but man do they milk it.

I was dubious at first about a, but then realised they'd need a villain at some point and Morgana made sense. And they needed an aristocrat and as they couldn't turn Arthur evil...

I know! And it's not like Lancelot is really a better option. I mean, Gwen in my eyes in all adaptions is pretty much screwed over from the get go.
