On Sunday I played my first ever hockey game. Given how poorly I skate I WAS TERRIFIED. I fell a few times, most pucks sailed by me, I never knew where I was supposed to be standing for face-offs AND IT WAS FABULOUS. I have paid my fees to play for them for the next few months so here's hoping I actually manage to get better.

I honour of her birthday yesterday, I dedicate my game to lage_nom_ai. Er, wish I had scored a goal for you but at least I didn't score an own goal. That's something, right?

INSANELY JEALOUS. I've always wanted to play ice hockey. How did you get into it/join?

My skating teacher found a team for me - she plays a lot of hockey. Honestly, if I can play a game with my genuinely terrible skills, anyone can. It's just a case of finding a low level team where they don't mind you learning on the ice.

Also, remember that the beauty of hockey is that you don't have to skate that well if you hang onto your opponent's sweater and punch her in the face. :P
