You know all of those little moving icons?  Sometimes they freak me out.  Especially the ones of David Tennant licking things.  Or extreme closeups on various body parts.  Whatever those body parts might be.  I don't know if it's that I can't deal with the movement or it I don't actually want to see DT's tongue at work all over the internet, or something else that the nuns drummed into me at some point. (When in doubt I blame the nuns. For pretty much anything; they were very busy women.).

I am going to end up one of those women waving my walking stick at those dratted youngsters having fun, amn't I?

Also it is horribly hot here (I went to the farmer's market at 8 this morning and it was already bloody hot).  And not at all conducive to the work I have to do.

I am just this moment looking at an animated icon of the Doctor's crotch.

::you kids today and your... music!::

It's hot here too, and because I am insane, I planted out 36 cosmos, 1 magenta snapdragon, two heliotrope, 12 purple petunias, 12 magenta celosia, two basils, and a hot pepper.

Why, no, this garden bed is not at all subtle.

I am firmly of the not subtle school of gardening. (When I had one that is.) Sadly I kill anything that grows indoors so now I can't have plants. And it sounds like a wonderful garden bed.

I am just this moment looking at an animated icon of the Doctor's crotch.

Seriously, did you ever think this is a line that you would ever have to type? :-) *goes off to mutter insanely and agedly in corner*

Tell me what you got at your market!

Mainly fruit: peaches, cherries (which I proceeded to drop and squish a bit, woes), and strawberries. And some excellent roasted red peppers and dolmas which a Greek food stall sells.

I went to the farmer's market here too! First of the season - but we had good ol' predictable rain. Lousy rain.

I am going to end up one of those women waving my walking stick at those dratted youngsters having fun, amn't I?

When I tore two ligaments in my ankle last year, I had a cane (I went and bought something stylish because I know the difference that a smart cane can make); I waved it around at anyone moving faster than I was. But it was the cane, entirely. Without the cane, I did no waving, but you know, sometimes when I'm driving now and watching people doing things I deem uncivilized, I think, 'I wish I had my cane so I could wave it around disapprovingly.' Really!)

The cane post is amazing! You know, I've never been able to take House seriously because I keep thinking Bertie Wooster/Prince Regent, but seeing the cane as part of the essence of House might do the trick!

'I wish I had my cane so I could wave it around disapprovingly

Yes. It really adds a certain something to the disapproval. And you can also poke people with it, which is essential.

It's the crotch and arse icons you have to watch out for. *nods sagely*

It is cold here, though not overly cold. Just enough to be huddled in a blanket. :)

*envies you your cold*

The crotch ones are a bit startling, though they don't freak me out as much as the tongue ones because those move incredibly fast. I have a terrible feeling I've turned into a 90 year old Victorian overnight. Oh, LJ why must you make me feel like an aged prude! *sobs*

Mmm, I've always said cold is better, as one can wrap up warm. Unbearable heat is evil.

The tongue one is weird. And slightly... yeah. Not very worksafe. Mind you, I usually have placeholder images on the flist itself, to make things faster.

The icons you speak of kind of scare me. It's like TMI in an icon.

These icons fill me with fear far beyond what they should. And if they move really fast I start twitching.
