Farscape Love

I've had ups and downs with Farscape (some of the more scatalogical humour just doesn't appeal to me), but when this show is on its game I just love it. 

Which is to say I loved Terra Firma.  Not as much as I loved the one where Aeryn holes up in the hotel room mourning one of the Johns, because that one is the best ever. 

But the bits in Terra Firma where Aeryn is trying to fit in, and then finally returns to her own clothing and shows up at his house to return the clothes she's been lent and the books; no one does tough person trying to hold it all together but still showing the vulnerabilities like this show.  

Though I have a disturbing love for Rygel.  Is this normal?

Also the bit in Twice Shy where John tries to motivate Pilot by saying You're good enough, you're smart enough..'  Um, I just really liked that bit.

Farscape definitely had some good and bad moments. I loved it at a point and then I tired of it. I saw The Peacekeeper Wars recently and it was good. Nothing great, but enjoyable.

I have really mixed feelings about this show: I like the characters but I thought it was beset with some very variable writing. They could write some stuff which I just adored and then follow it up with material that did nothing for me. Though I know other people love some of the episodes I didn't like, so it's very much an issue of taste.

I love it with an unholy love, but that's because the characters are strong enough to carry it through the occasional 'props budget of $50 and a secondhand script' episodes. I can see why other people have less patience with those eps, though.

But at its best there was nothing better.
