The West Wing decides to present Turkey as a country that goes fundamentalist and execute a woman for adultery.  Right, with all the places this could actually happen they decide to go after Turkey? It would be funny if that country was not currently having issues with attracting tourism (which their economy needs) because people identify them with more, shall we say, extreme countries. 

You suspect that these writers have a big map of the Middle East marked 'land o'terrorists' and they pick countries at random whenever they need something to fill out their story.
