I've recently bought some William Hartnell episodes as he's not a Doctor I've seen much of. Hmmm. Behind the cut is a massively biased review of Hartnell as the first doctor.

If you're a huge fan and wondering if you should click, I'll say it outright, I don't think he's very good, though he does have an excellent set of credits and some fine lapel holding moves. More blasphemy about the first doctor is behind the cut! (Along with non dial-up friendly pictures)

Oh, I got the blasphemy, I got it here. Having watched several episodes of Hartnell I am now horrifically annoyed by all the people who told me I should watch him. Because he is sort of rubbish and floppy and does not do very much. And he disappears for much of the story which is not very interesting as I bought the DVDs because they said 'Doctor Who' not 'Random humans die horribly.' Which they do.

Also while I am at it, I am not sure that I like the Seventh Doctor. Or Ace. I go backwards and forwards on this one, because I know Ace has some elements that are quite admirable, but then there's Ghostlight and I have no idea what is going on and Ace's revelation in the episode really, really annoys me for some bleeding reason. So there you go. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa, etc.
