Going Crazy from the Lack of Sleep

Seriously, if this insomnia lasts much longer I will be certifiably insane and posting wank like there's no tomorrow.
Today I wrote up the perfect wanktastic post: pompous, filled with snotty rage, containing CAPSLOCK OF RAGE, and just about everything else you could imagine. It was like the perfect storm of wank. Luckily sanity kicked in and I made it private and then later deleted it.
But if this continues I will not be able to stop myself. Wank will be posted! All I'm asking is please do not take it seriously if it occurs. I will be suitably ashamed of myself once I get more than four hours sleep a night.
Anyone got any cures for insomnia apart from drinking yourself into a stupor? Because I've tried that one and it is not working so well.

Date: 2006-05-12 08:30 am (UTC)Anyway, the rant that I'm not ranting about is people who bring fluff expectations to a dark show. There exist fluff shows. Go watch "Seventh Heaven". Go watch "Sleepless In Seattle". But don't watch a show which is often concerned with death and loss and despair and then complain and/or write fix-it fic when there are emotional complications.
This is not "Bringing Up Baby", nor was meant to be.

Date: 2006-05-12 09:02 am (UTC)I don't actually care if people on shipper communities want fluff and happily ever after, though it's not something I particularly want to read or think that the show will deliver. I figure that's what they're there for and if you're expecting a shipper community to be all happy about one part of a couple snogging another person, then you've missed the point of a shipper community. It does become a problem if a) shippers go wild elsewhere and go to war on every website, journal, community devoted to the show and b) if people expect the shippers to defy human nature and embrace the opposite of what they watch the show for.
Though, dear god, I do not want to see babyfic! Though it's inevitable given that apparently two people who travel together must want marriage and babies above all else. And babies apparently cure all problems in a relationship! This is why I do not read those sort of stories.
And I like Bringing up Baby too.

Date: 2006-05-12 09:06 am (UTC)I'm just looking forward to Cybermen, myself. Plus not being hit over the head with the lonely theme. I think I may have earned an episode where someone doesn't explictly point that out about the doctor.
